I've already written about the D-ribose/creatine/NMN combination , stating that it provides an incredible energy boost. This combination has one component that really stands out in terms of its effectiveness: NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide).
The effects of this supplement are so powerful that after a week of taking high doses, you'll simply lose sleep and become superhuman in terms of productivity, both mental and physical (I've personally verified this). In my experience, it's even more powerful than modafinil.
In some cases, this is useful—for example, in situations where you need to work (or fight) at night, or where you need to train a lot (professional athletes)—but for ordinary people, it can be a hindrance! Therefore, the main caveat with this supplement is to start with small doses of no more than 200 mg per day. If there's no effect after a week, increase to 500 mg. The maximum dose is 1 gram per day, but I think this dose is only necessary for people weighing over 100 kg. Take only early in the morning. NMN's effect is cumulative, meaning you shouldn't expect a noticeable effect from a single dose, but you should notice it within 10 days.
Also remember: if you speed up mitochondrial function (as NMN does), you need to be mindful of free radicals, which will increase as a byproduct of mitochondrial function. They're like waste from power plants. Therefore, you need to support your antioxidant systems, especially if they contain polymorphisms. These include glutathione and SOD (superoxide dismutase).
Don't speed up your body when it's sick. I've already said this metaphorically, and I'll say it again: you can't speed up a broken car! Address any health issues (especially chronic inflammation from infections) before taking these kinds of supplements!
A few words about manufacturers. Production of nicotinamide mononucleotide has been partially restricted in the US since the second half of 2022, as it is being researched as a pharmaceutical (the Yankees want to profit from its effects). Therefore, I recommend buying Japanese NMN; it's cheaper and works, I've personally verified it:
